Members, Students, Teachers, and Friends of the Study Center,
After four very productive years as our executive director, Rachel Miller will be stepping down this summer and seeking other challenges. On behalf of the entire Study Center community, I wish to express my deep appreciation for her energy, enthusiasm, incredible devotion and hard work, to recognize her many achievements including the production of over 300 courses of outstanding quality and diversity, and to wish her well in her new ventures. We will be preparing a suitable tribute to Rachel and you are welcome to send me any thoughts or comments about her to me at
president@jewishstudycenter.org.
After considerable thought and consultation with Rachel, the Board has put together the following job description, and invites you to send it on to anyone you think might be qualified and interested. In addition to someone who can perform the duties and assume the responsibilities attached, we seek someone who will be devoted to our mission, can work with those within and on the outside of the Jewish community, and can work with a Board and volunteers of a nonprofit organization. We seek an individual to help build and develop the Jewish Study Center so that it will serve the entire metropolitan area, with its large Jewish and non Jewish population, and help us achieve our vision of being visible to, and offering courses of interest to, anyone Jewish or interested in learning more about Judaism.
Please have interested candidates send their questions and letters to
jobs@jewishstudycenter.org.

Description:
The Jewish Study Center, founded in 1978, is an independent non-profit institute of adult Jewish education in the Washington, D.C. area. Its mission is to provide classes and programs of Jewish study in the widest breadth of topics as possible; and to accomplish this in an atmosphere where any person, regardless of background or level of current involvement, can feel comfortable to study and to establish a serious relationship with the Jewish tradition.
We're seeking a highly creative, energetic and entrepreneurial Executive Director to be the new public face of the Jewish Study Center of Washington.
